Does the insurer pay the bank or the beneficiary when the policy is established to cover a mortgage?

If the insured assigned the benefit to the mortgage lender, Triple-S Vida will request a debt certificate from the bank and pay the balance owed to the lender up to the amount of the insurance. If there’s still any remainder of the policy benefit after this, the insurer will pay it directly to the person last designated by the beneficiary.
