I retired and would not like to withdraw the funds from the company’s retirement plan. Can I transfer these funds to an IRA account?

Yes, provided the company retirement plan is qualified by the Department of Treasury. The law allows you to transfer these funds to an IRA account through a direct transfer from the trustee who manages your company retirement plan, to the trustee who manages the IRA account to which you will rollover the funds. You may also receive the distribution and contribute it to an IRA account within sixty (60) days after having received said payment or distribution.
