Is an employer required to hold the job that a worker performed at the time of their disability and reinstate them?

Yes. Up to twelve (12) months from the beginning of the disability and subject to certain conditions established by law. Should the employer not comply with this provision, they will be bound to pay the worker or their beneficiaries the salary that said worker would have earned had they been reinstated, in addition to being liable for the damages caused.

  • The Call Center will offer service from 8:00 a.m - 1:00 p,m. o The following offices will be closed: Central Office, Ponce, Yauco, San Germán, Mayagüez, San Sebastián, Isabela, and Arecibo.

Tuesday, February 17:

  • The following offices will be closed: San Juan, Manatí, Barranquitas, Vega Alta, Bayamón, Caguas, Coamo, Juana Díaz, Carolina, San Lorenzo, Guayama, Patillas, Canóvanas, Humacao, Gurabo, and Fajardo.
