Is the benefit payment subject to withholding by Social Security?
From January 1, 1982, SINOT benefits are subject to the tax levied by the Social Security Act (FICA). This means that the FICA tax will be deducted from your disability benefits, as established by Public Law 97-123. Triple-S Vida will send notice to the employer of the benefits paid to the worker and of the deduction performed, so that it can pay the corresponding employer contribution.
