What is the time limit to file a death claim?
The deceased worker’s dependents must establish their claim within a period of six (6) months following the insured worker’s death. Should there be just cause, the Director of the Department of Labor may extend the claim period. However, no claim filed after a year from the date of the worker’s death will be considered as entitled to benefits by the Director or Secretary.
